Happy 10th birthday Caleb Joshua!

December 1oth. 6:06 pm. Incognito, Delaney attempts to open gift for Caleb. Operation sneaky. Operation FAIL.

Great Grandpa G and Grandpa singing away.
Delaney pretends not to notice said singing.
Caleb is hypnotizing the cake.
Sophie: reading a good book while listening to birthday song.
Aubrie is wondering if the candles are going to catch Caleb's shirt on fire. Always a possibility...
Fact: Great Grandpa G was 90 when Caleb was born.

My handsome son. I love him so much! Thanks for being such a great kid! You ROCK!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree......

I'm just so random.....

Don't you hate it when you get your Christmas lights out from their hibernation, and a strand is not working. Or one bulb, or maybe all of them?
Yeah, me too! But what I really don't like is going to the big commercial Home store, buying the new lights in the fancy box..full price and everything. Take the time to put them up on the house balancing on a rickity stepstool. ( K, Nathan did the putting up part, I held up the boy so he didn't biff it......) and plug in the beautiful lights. And. 1/3 of the " New " lights don't work. Great. Nice.

Snow covered stuff.

Have to practice with the camera in low light......:)

I see how it is. Technology. Hmmph. Have to IM your husband to come upstairs, or down. Sending email to the kids to remind them about chores. Watch weird Al's eBay song/video while trying to get family to sit for family night. I see how it is.......

Cookies before mutilation

Look what these 2 gingerbread peoples did! Awwwwwe, so cute!

Let's make a family. Maybe Christi was having too much fun!

Gingerbread cookies.

For FHE we made gingerbread cookies. Rather, we made cookies. I didn't have molasses, which for you bakers is a key ingredient in gingerbread. I substituted karol syrup and honey. Seemed to work okay!

They had fun mixing the colors toward the end.

From my front porch to yours.....

I mean, WOW! I was headed downstairs to put another load of laundry in, and this sunset caught my eye through the window. I called the kiddos outside for a quick picture. It was amazing. The kids, and the sunset. I get to see this every evening right outside my front window. I am a lucky girl. Really. Truly.

Sorry about the pizza Posts

They went in the wrong order.

Alan's Birthday!

So, My SIL Melissa needed helping tricking her Hubby, my brother Alan for his birthday. He really wanted the new G1 phone. She wanted to surprise him big time. She orders it, but it was back ordered for 14 days. It wouldn't arrive in time for his November 6th birthday. So, she asks me if I could put some rocks in the G1 phone box Nathan just received a week previous, and put a cute note in it for him. I was so excited to help! I was having a rather bad day, as I went to a super chain store for pretty wrapping paper and such.Got to the check out, realized my wallet was not in my purse. Crap. It was a 15 minute drive home to get it ( It was on the counter...courtesy of my 4 year old digging for gum in my purse...) I go back, return, grab the phone box, stick a can of tomato sauce in it and wrap it all professional like. I was so proud of myself. I normally am a horrid wrapper, but I took extra care! I even put a ribbon on it. score for Christi. yeah.

So, They come over, drop off their munchkins..I hand over the box to Melissa, winking....She was planning on giving it to him at dinner. I'm all " Sweet, I made it...." Then my husband walks into the kitchen with the G1 phone box and asks ' Um, what did you wrap and give Melissa?" um, I don't know!!! Some box with a stupid phone on it!!!!

Panic. Text Melissa. " Don't give him the gift, I wrapped the wrong one."
So, Alan knows I wrapped something wrong. Peeks his interest, I'm sure! I get busy with kid stuff, then realize they will be back soon. Run back to the bedroom, grab the dumb phone box, and wrap it up. When they arrive at our place, I hurry and unwrap that one to take the message out, then unwrap the one I just wrapped to add the message...Do you see where I am going with this. I was FRAZZLED!! It finally got wrapped. But see, that is not the end.

This one is a little heavier...Hmmmm.

Okay folks. It was the wrong box yet again. I blame my hubby for keeping every box from every phone we had ever received, and they just happened to be in our bedroom at the same time? Likely story. I believe it was sabotage. He insisted that it said G1 on the box in big letters. Sha, right. A phone box is a phone box to me.( And I AM getting old, and it's harder to see stuff...) That is my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyways. Sorry Alan and Melissa for making your evening crazy and what not. I owe ya...BIG time! Love ya guys!
