Making lollipops

When I was younger, my Mom made suckers, or lollipops to make a little cash on the side. I have fond memories of walking in the kitchen after school and smelling the aroma of hot candy. Cinnamon, watermelon, root beer. Pink lemonade, bubblegum and chocolate. It was heavenly. I decided to make some for family night this week. I borrowed my mom's supplies. The candy molds, the flavor oils. Just opening the tops of the oils made my mouth start to water. The fight was over what flavor to make. Of course, every child have an opinion as to which one to make that evening. I said That I would surprise them. Whining ensued, but mom won out showed them how to prepare the molds on the marble top. They oohed and aahed over the bunny shaped molds, the tulip, the cowboy hat. Caleb was especially excited about the pack man shaped mold " Dad will LOVE this one! I'm making him one!"
" Mom, what is this?" Delaney asked, holding a mangled mold. " Um, what do you think it is?" I asked. " I know" Sophie interrupts. ''It's a dolphin!" "" Oh Yes," Exclaims Kiera, it IS a dolphin!" So , a Dolphin it became!
we ended up making cherry bubblegum, and had some fun!
