If wishes were horses....
We would all take a ride....
I was reading this quote on another bloggers site. She was in a serious plane accident in August, where she was burned over 80% of her body, and her hubby 30%. They are still in critical condition with 4 small children. She writes quite lovely about the experience of Motherhood in general. I loved this quote especially;
Author Anna Quindlen reminds us not to rush past the fleeting moments She said: “The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).

-Nathan and Christi have no idea what they are doing.....
-Schools starts
-Mom is happy......
-Christi has major surgery
-Christi turns 34
-Christi is doing SO good now!
-exploring vast wilderness know as American Fork Canyon.
-Nathan turns 36
-Nathan is now closer to 40 than to 30!
-Sophie started Preschool
It has been such a different experience living in an area where your doorbell rings every 5 minutes. " Can so and so play?" I had to put a note up yesterday as to not repeat the previous nights chaos. We had about 15 kids on our front lawn, kicking a soccer ball, making paper airplanes on the porch, riding their scooters. I don't mind this, but it was 7:30, and my kids are in bed at 8. So, I felt like meany Mom sending them all on their way.
It's nice walking into your backyard, and finding 3 giggling 5-7 year olds in your raspberry bush, stuffing themselves silly. I love it!
I hear almost every night " Can so and so stay for dinner?" and finding myself relaxing more, and saying yes more often than not. I want my children's friends to feel welcome, and loved. We are finding a balance.
The kids are doing well at school. Kiera still really struggles with Math, and it is so frustrating! She joined choir after school.
Caleb is actually doing really well! Just a couple hiccups, but overall getting high scores on all his work. He has blossomed, I think in part because of having friends to play with and getting down and dirty! It's fun to see him develop!
Aubrie is doing good, as far as I can tell. She is learning German now, and has to read us her words daily. I will admit, I go into sort of a trance when she does......... She made peanut butter cookies on Sunday by herself for her economics class. Yummy!
She is really active with the youth at church. They just started volleyball.
Nathan is working our minor glitches between the State Hospital and Developmental Hospital. He has Fridays off now due to mandatory 10 hour work days.
Well, hope everyone else is doing well. Miss you!!
